Sweet Pea
Sweet pea (Lathyrus) is a genus in the Fabaceae (legumes) family, native to Sicily, southern Italy and the Aegean Islands.
Sweet peas are prized for their variety of colorful, fragrant blooms. Sweet pea flowers give a lovely cottage feel to flower arrangements and are very popular for summer wedding bouquets and table arrangements. Pastel blue and lavender varieties look lovely when combined with delicate lilac flowers and pale pink, dark red and deep purple varieties look great mixed together, or combined with similar coloured lisianthus, freesias and stock, to create an English country garden look.
