Tulip
Tulips are a genus of the Liliaceae family. Although long associated with Holland, the earliest cultivation began in the Ottoman Empire and the word ‘tulip’ derives from the Persian word ‘dulband’, meaning ‘turban’. For centuries tulips have been one of the world's favourite flowers. We stock a wide range of tulips, including frilly edged 'parrot' varieties in huge range of colours. Tulips (like daisies and dahlias) look at home in any type of container, from the homeliest tin to the prettiest crystal vase.
